Ski Tunes Shop History
Ski Tunes ski shop is a full-service ski and snowboard business that specializes in sales, custom fittings, tune-ups and repairs, but it didn’t start out that way. Owner and operator Grant Shultz started the business with his wife Lynn in 1991 as a cozy tune-up shop in the bottom of their renovated 1860’s barn. At the time, Grant was a teacher in the Hempfield School District where he ran the ski club for his students and often tuned their skis at no charge. Over the years the shop expanded from tune-ups into sales as Grant and his family became more dedicated to the sport. Business took off as the word spread about the fair pricing and customer service found at Ski Tunes.
Grant’s love and enthusiasm for the sport has spread throughout his family and friends. He has a dedicated expert staff made up of members of his ski group “The Rail Riders”. His daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters can all be found out on the mountain enjoying the snow. You know you are in expert hands because Grant has been skiing extensively throughout Pennsylvania, New England, the Rockies, Canada, and Europe since 1964. Even though Grant has retired from teaching after 36 years he is still involved with the school club, now run through the Hempfield Rec Center. Come be part of the shop’s history and check out what Ski Tunes has to offer.
