The Elan Wingman Evaluation Contest

When Elan designs a new ski model, the company asks dealers to evaluate the prototype before it goes into production to be sold to the general public. During the 2018-19 season Elan’s new prototype was the Wingman, a front mountain ski designed for carving up groomers, crud, bumps and whatever else you might be faced with when skiing the mountain--other than maybe the back country. Thus, we, the Ski Tunes’ team, skied the Wingman and evaluated its performance to provide feedback to Elan.  One part of this process proved especially fun, challenging, and interesting, for we were asked to include a video that would help visually tell the story of the NEW WINGMAN.  Elan representatives viewed all of the videos from the evaluators and chose a winner who would be given the chance to tour the Elan manufacturing facilities in Slovenia. Lo and behold, Hal Lefever, the manager at Ski Tunes and the producer of the video, and Grant Shultz, the owner, Wingman evaluator, and skier, won the contest! Elan selected their production as the best out of 100 videos “advertising” the Wingman prototype, and they will be going to Slovenia to see just how Elan produces the Wingman and its other stellar products. We hope you enjoy this presentation, and as you know with Elan skis, there are

“Always Good Times”!
